Dad provides the worldly needs
Sits silently aside
Stalwart in his outward pose
Fights demons of his own
Leader of the family
Advisor, loving man
Mentor, coach, defender waits
To mend a broken heart
Wiping tears, encouraging
His child’s growth support
Proud of the accomplishments
Arms out to catch the falls
Father in the sense that’s true
Means more than DNA
Dance recitals, soccer games
Wherever, he is there!
BELIEVE
Believe, for He is there
To light your path through darkest days
And lift you onto Angels’ wings
To soar above the clouds.
Creation bursts, new life
Each Spring to coat the Earth with green
Varieties of animals
Know love is in the air
Rejoice! Renew! Give Thanks!
As magical events unfold
Have faith, in awe of mystery

What cross is that you bear,
The one you chose at incarnation
To grow, to learn, to raise
Your place in heaven’s realm?

I walk the beach, our favored spot
Searching for my love.
Pink puffs on blue, sun bursting through
Hopes are riding high
Be this the day I see his face
Finding his way back
To hearth and home, his family
Awaiting safe return?
I see a man. He’s coming near
Bursting is my heart
The gait is wrong, the build not his
Smashed to smithereens
The gulls are screaming, “Silly girl.
Spirits walk with God.
You look for him, but cannot see.
